At Lou Granva, there’s nothing more important than family, from our guests’ families, some of whom have been coming here for generations to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life and relax by the Lac de l’Abbaye, to the family of Lou Granva’s owners: Dolores and Raphaël are the fourth generation of the Piot family to run a hotel in the Jura region.
It was Raphaël’s great-grandfather who bought the lake so that his factory’s workers could enjoy their very first paid holidays, back in the 1930s. Raphaël’s grandfather went on to build a hotel known as Hôtel de l’Abbaye, while his father took over the business and built Lou Granva in 1985. Raphaël and his brother Francis renovated La Ferme de Marguerite to turn it into gîtes: the former now runs Lou Granva, while the latter manages Hôtel de l’Abbaye.
Today, Raphaël offers guests a wonderfully warm welcome! He works in perfect harmony with his wife: Dolores manages the dining room and reception, while Raphaël, a born-and-bred Jura native and an enthusiastic restaurateur, is delighted to get to work in the kitchen.

As a member of Relais Motards and Logis de France, Lou Granva is a real haven of peace, at the far end of the Lac de l’Abbaye, a little way from the village. The surroundings countryside is an ode to nature and you’ll love walking and cycling through fields and forests, admiring the lush green grass and enjoying the simple pleasures of the beach. A stay here will be the perfect opportunity for you to slow down, recharge your batteries and spend some quality time with your loved ones in a peaceful setting.
To keep our guests of all ages entertained, the hotel has a swimming pool, a pool table, a fireside bar, books, board games and electric bikes (for an additional charge). Spend quality time with your children, parents or friends in this wonderful hotel. Four-legged friends are also welcome (for an additional charge)!

Lou Granva means “Grandvaux” in the local dialect. The hotel is proud of its roots and offers a warm welcome which is typical of the region of Franche-Comté. The hotel boasts 27 spacious and original rooms: choose between a double, twin, triple or quadruple room or opt for adjoining rooms for even more convenience! Families are welcome to enjoy our local specialities at our restaurant.
